From paper archives to strategic mouth mask supply

Paper archives are disappearing, corporate storage needs to be tailored, flexible and easy. In 2019, Merak introduced its Box Storage: a customised solution that is fast, online and secure.
In the spring of 2020 Merak featured in the Flemish press.
The family business, specialising in archive management and storage of materials, had won the contract to store the Belgian strategic oral mask stocks.
No coincidence, because with more than 35 years of experience, Merak has become synonymous with storage and archiving.
“Our customers are both small and large companies, and they use a full service for their archive and information management, tailored to their needs in a highly secure environment," said CEO and owner Henrik Rooms.
Of course, business needs have changed significantly in recent years.
“The demand for storage of paper archives has been shrinking, especially since the beginning of the corona pandemic,” says Rooms.
“But we had already seen this falling trend coming before Covid-19, so it did not surprise us.
That's why we're broadening our focus.
In addition to the storage of paper archives, we are developing new concepts such as storage of goods for companies."
Mobile
That's how Merak Box Storage came to life in 2019.
“A unique storage solution for a wide range of companies: from construction companies or offices to liberal professions or retailers.
They gain working space with a custom storage box, which they easily order online.
We come to pick up the items, store them safely and return them as soon as they need them.
Merak helps companies store office materials, tools, trade fair stands, shop equipment and more.
“Customers choose the format of their storage boxes: 1, 5, 6, 16 or 24 m³.
They only pay for what they need," explains Henrik Rooms.
“The storage itself takes place in secure and air-conditioned rooms, which are monitored permanently.”
Here, Merak reaps the benefits of its years of experience and expertise in archive storage.
Box Storage is also a mobile storage solution.
“We can bring the storage room to our customers if they wish,” says Rooms.
“That is the unique thing about the whole story.
Because even though customers can arrange things quickly and easily online, Merak remains available to assist them with advice and action.
